FIRST PLACE October 5                                                                                   Elizabeth Mary Van Hook Read:  Matthew 6:31-34 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33, NIV) My favorite board game is SCRABBLE® which I often play alone.  Today, as I placed my hand in the letter bag, I hoped I would get a better mixture of vowels and consonants than I usually do.  I placed the seven tiles on the rack randomly without looking at them.  Unbelievably, the first three tiles on the rack spelled GOD!  Without any hesitation, it became my opening word.  I placed it in the center of the board, and proceeded with the game. My life had been getting out of control.  I had prayed for weeks that God would show me a way out of the confusion that had resulted.  I knew that He had been speaking to me, but I was not listening for His answer. As a photographer, visuals are very important to me.  When I saw His name and position on the SCRABBLE® board, He reminded me in a way that I could understand that He needed to have first place in my life.  With Him in the center of my life, everything, subsequently, would fall into place. Father God, you speak to us in so many ways.  Help us to use all of our senses to hear You
